Samsung Balances Back Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 In the midst of Fall Off Sales

Samsung is allegedly suggesting decreasing production of its forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 devices by almost 40% compared with past models, because of declining deals of its foldable smartphones.

The Elec, a delegate from China-based company Fastprint, a circuit board manufacturer, uncovered that Samsung hopes to extend manufacturing of the Galaxy S25 series while chopping down its foldable efforts.

As per the information dropped by an industry insider from Hana Securities, in general sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 had not exceeded 5 million devices, demonstrating that this decision reflects declining sales. In contrast with the Fold 5 and Flip 5 models, this represents a 6% decrease. On the plus side, Fold 6’s sales performance was somewhat better than that of its predecessor.

As per reports, Samsung is focusing on potential improvements for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8, which are expected in 2026, as opposed to setting up any significant upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. The full interpreted statement from The Elec reads:

“Taking a look only at Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone form factor, it appears to be that there will be a few changes beginning with the Z8 series that will be released in 2026, beside the Galaxy Z7 series next year. It appears as though Samsung Electronics’ strategy is to respond to the pursuit of Chinese foldable phones and the expected launch of Apple’s foldable products, but expectations have fallen significantly.”

With plans to expand the manufacturing of the Galaxy S25 by 7%, with an eye toward 37.4 million units, Samsung is expected to focus on its Galaxy S series considering these challenges.
