Report: OpenAI Has Considered in Building a Humanoid Robot

OpenAI, famous for its progressions in artificial intelligence, has as of late viewed as fostering its own humanoid robot. The Data revealed this thought, referring to two people with direct knowledge of the conversations.
Historically, OpenAI has been engaged in the robotics sector. In 2020, the organization developed Dactyl, a system designed to train robotic hands to manipulate physical objects, including solving a Rubik’s Cube. Notwithstanding, in 2021, OpenAI disbanded its robotics division to focus on generative artificial intelligence technologies, like GPT-3.
Meanwhile, OpenAI has made key interests in a few robotics’ startups, including Physical Intelligence, Figure, and 1X Tecnologies. These investments propose a supported interest in the robotics field.
The potential improvement of a humanoid robot by OpenAI would situate the organization alongside companies like Figure and 1X Technologies, which are effectively creating humanoid robots. For example, Figure has presented the Figure 02, a commercially viable autonomous humanoid robot intended for different applications.
While OpenAI has not freely affirmed plans to foster a humanoid robot, the new discussions and strategic investments indicate a renewed interest in the robotics sector. The integration of advanced AI models, like ChatGPT, into humanoid robots could improve human-robot communications across different situations.
OpenAI’s renewed interest in humanoid robotics, coupled with its previous investments and expertise in AI, positions the organization to potentially make significant contributions to the field in the near future.
